Recipe for cauliflower medley with black-eyed peas and rice

cauliflower medley recipeIn Ayurveda, we seek balance. And if we want to feel balance within, we need to surround ourselves with balance as well. In our food, this means we want to create meals that have the balance of all 6 tastes that exist in nature.

The 6 tastes of Ayurveda:

  1. Sweet – like root vegetables and whole grains
  2. Sour – citrus fruit or sumac
  3. Salty – salt or seaweeds
  4. Bitter – leafy greens
  5. Pungent – ginger or hing
  6. Astringent – beans and spices

This delicious dish has multiple components, but it comes together easily to create a balanced bowl that will leave you feeling nourished and satisfied. Be sure to get the black eyed peas soaking, and use a pressure cooker to make this dish super easy.
